Throwback! (Photoshop)

Way back in 2014, I was interested in learning how to 3D model in Cinema 4D. I didn’t get very far with that, only ever really making a single speedart video, but it led to me meeting a GFX artist named Erik. Him and I became really good friends, and he got me into Photoshop, acting as a mentor as I learned.

We started a YouTube channel called AvionicArt where we would go on to post a few speedarts, mostly in Photoshop CS6. Any video with Azulix in the title was by me, and the others with Aziil were him.

A fun fact about the name Azulix.. at this time in my life, I was obsessed with usernames. Names of my MMO characters, of YouTube channels, you name it. I’d spend hours and hours mulling over the best name to pick for something. And, at this time, most platforms on the internet required you to have a totally unique name, unlike today where your username and your user facing name need not be identical.

Anyway, so Erik had previously used the name Aziil and I thought that was pretty cool, so I thought up the name Azulix to pair with it. But.. I then googled “Azulix” and turns out, it’s a drug to treat diabetes 🙃. This didn’t stop me from using it, but it bothered me a lot, being the perfectionist teenager that I was haha.

Anyway, here are some videos. This first one is the single C4D video I mentioned:

And here are a couple of my favorite Photoshop speedart videos that I did:

Erik was much better than me :P. Here are a couple of his:
